At Cryptomegaphone, accuracy is our highest priority.
We are committed to publishing information that is correct, complete, and presented in proper context. When we make mistakes — whether factual, contextual, or typographical — we correct them transparently and as quickly as possible.
This policy explains how we handle corrections, updates, clarifications, retractions, and reader feedback.
1. Our Commitment to Accuracy
Cryptomegaphone follows strict editorial standards:
- All articles are verified with reliable sources
- Data, quotes, and statistics are cross-checked
- Updates are clearly marked
- Corrections are transparent and never hidden
- We do not alter published work to hide errors
Accuracy is not optional — it is part of our responsibility to readers.
2. When We Issue a Correction
A correction is issued when:
- A factual error appears in a published story
- Key details (dates, names, figures) were inaccurate
- Quotes were misattributed or context was misstated
- A story misrepresents facts or events through oversight
- Market data or blockchain data was incorrectly cited
Corrections apply only to factual inaccuracies, not opinions or predictions.
3. How Corrections Are Displayed
When a correction is necessary:
- The article is updated with the correct information
- A bolded Correction note is added at the bottom of the article
- The note includes a timestamp and explanation of what changed
- We never silently fix substantive errors
Example:
Correction (Jan 12, 2025): An earlier version of this story misstated the launch date of Project X. The correct date is Jan 10, 2025.
4. Updates vs. Corrections
Not all changes are “corrections.”
4.1 Updates
Used when adding new information that does not change the original accuracy.
Examples:
- A company issues a follow-up statement
- A protocol posts additional details
- Markets react after publication
- More context becomes available
An update is marked as:
Update (Jan 12, 2025): Additional details were added regarding…
4.2 Clarifications
Used when the information was technically correct but may have lacked clarity or could be misunderstood.
Example:
Clarification: This article has been updated to better explain…
5. Retractions
Retractions are rare and used only when:
- The entire article is based on false, fabricated, or unverifiable information
- Sources involved were illegitimate or manipulated
- The story poses harm due to incorrect essential facts
In such cases:
- The article is replaced with a Retraction Notice
- The notice explains why the content was removed
- We maintain transparency about the removal
Cryptomegaphone does not delete content simply because it is critical or unfavorable to a company.
6. Reader Feedback & Requests for Correction
We encourage readers, researchers, and industry participants to notify us of potential issues.
You can request a correction at:
editorial@cryptomegaphone.com
Please include:
- The article URL
- A description of the error
- Supporting evidence or references
- Your contact information (optional)
Every request is reviewed by an editor.
7. Internal Review Process
When an error is reported:
- An editor reviews the claim
- The relevant writer and fact-checking team are notified
- Sources and data are re-verified
- The editor determines whether it is:
- A correction
- An update
- A clarification
- Or no change needed
- The result is recorded and published transparently
We aim to complete this process as quickly as possible.
8. Ethical Responsibility
Cryptomegaphone adheres to international journalistic ethics:
- We never hide mistakes
- We do not rewrite history by silently editing articles
- We treat corrections as part of our integrity
- We avoid defensive attitudes toward legitimate criticism
Accountability strengthens trust — it does not diminish it.
9. Social Media Corrections
If a story that was shared on social media contained a significant error:
- We correct the article on-site
- We may publish an updated or corrective post on social media
- If necessary, we may delete the original post to avoid further misinformation
Social platforms amplify news; our responsibility extends there as well.
10. Republished Content (Syndication)
If Cryptomegaphone content is republished by third-party partners:
- We notify them of major corrections
- They are responsible for updating or removing their versions
- We maintain our correction record on the original page
11. Our Promise
We will always strive for the highest standards of accuracy, fairness, and transparency.
When we fall short, we correct the record honestly and promptly.
Accountability is not optional — it is central to our mission to inform and protect our readers.
